Countdown(Review)[Terrifying Theatrical Tuesday]

If you had a way to see when exactly you would die, would you do it? In Countdown, the answer is a irrevocable yes.

The movie is about a popular app named Countdown that predicts when you will die to the very second. However as some of the users find out, altering your fate can prove deadly as when time runs out, death will come for you no matter how much you avoid it. It’s up a young nurse to figure out how to beat the clock before she meets her timely demise.

This is a pretty intelligent horror movie that explores death in the realm of modern technology. It shows human’s curiosity of when death will come knocking, and how that knowledge effects them. A few try to alter their predestined fate, which ends up violating an user agreement none of them bothered to read. There a few jump scares that will make you leap out of your skin. And the explanation of what the app was about actually made sense. Even though the supernatural is involved, it was something a bit different. It made the movie an enjoyable watch.
The movie kept the tension going, especially when the death scenes came, and teasing various ways the people would die. The people affected by the app will see someone or something stalking them, and it is like death is stalking them. Or something else masquerading as death. And the ending shows that try as you might, death cannot be cheated.

So yeah if you like films such as Final Destination, you will love Countdown. It gives you something a bit more, and will have you at the edge of your seat.
