The Howling(Review)(Full Moon Rising #4)[Terrifying Theatrical Tuesday]

Saving the best for last, The Howling is a film that cannot be matched when it comes to the production and atmosphere. There is a reason why this still remains an iconic horror film even to this day.

The movie is about a TV news reporter named Karen who is traumatized after a bizarre encounter with a serial killer. She is sent to a commune to help her recover, but soon finds out the residents are not as they seem.

The atmosphere setting in this movie is incredible, making both the protagonist and audience feel on edge throughout the movie. This movie also boasts having the best werewolf transformation scenes in horror film history. One major difference is the ability of humans to transform at will, not needing the full moon to do so. As they transform, you will see the skin actually pulsate as they morph from man to beast. Also Dee Wallace excels in her portrayal as Karen, all the way to the wild ending.

The Howling was so successful it received several sequels, and there is eventual plans of a remake. But you certainly cannot beat the original.
