Lamb(2021) Review

Sometimes you will see horror movies that present something that is so abstract that it will challenge your perception. Lamb(2021) is very much thar type of film that delves into motherhood and how far someone will go to protect a child.

The plot is about a couple of sheep farmers who are struggling to have children. One day a sheep gives birth to something unusual and the couple decides to raise it as one of their own. But nature has a way of claiming its own and they must face the challenges that come their way.

When you see the unique condition of the baby lamp, you can understand why the couple decided to bond to it. What you won’t agree with is how protective the woman becomes to the point she is keeping the lamb from its own mother. She takes drastic measures in doing this which even I thought was going too far.

Then the brother of the man shows up and you can see even he is weirded out about the situation. He sees the lamb as an abomination, something that shouldn’t naturally exist. It gets even more complicated when it’s revealed he had an affair with the woman and he is acting very creepy towards her.

The lamb is absolutely adorable and they dress it in human clothes, take it out as they do farm work. They build an inseparable bond. But then you wonder how it came to be birthed in the first place, and that is all revealed in a very bleak ending.

In all, this was a pretty good movie, and it’s not even that scary but will definitely have you interested to see how it all plays out. If you want to see it for yourself it is currently streaming on Amazon Prime.
