There are multiple leagues and dimensions when it comes to the world of heavy music. Today, we are focusing on a project so dark and intense, the best way to describe it might be a combination of “traumatic” and “tragic”.
MIRAR is a French two-member project that blends together Thall Metalcore, Downbeat breakdowns, experimental soundscapes, and classical elements. I wouldn’t be the first person to say that this is what I expect Hell itself to sound like.
While they dropped an EP back in June titled “MARE” (which I strongly suggest checking out – the final song is the scariest thing I may have ever heard), today I want to highlight a single of theirs titled “Madeleine”, which came out way back in September of last year. This song is the ultimate example of what this band does best. It’s heavy, it’s groovy, it’s thoroughly interesting, and it’s downright disturbing. From operatic strings and horns, to baby’s crying, and head-smashing grooves between the guitars and drums, this song is an experience from front to back.
