The Haunting in Connecticut(Review)

A creeptastic movie that claims it was based on true events but that has since been proven that it is a fabrication, The Haunting of Connecticut definitely provides it’s fair share of scares.

The plot sees a family who’s son has been diagnosed with cancer. They move to a house in Connecticut to be closer to where the son can get treatment he needs. The son starts to experience paranormal events and they soon learn the true history of the house they moved into.

Surviving cancer is a horror enough for the family to go through and having the paranormal on top of that makes it almost too hard for them to bear. The son is the only one who can see the spirits or interact with them. That could be because the son is a medium or because of him dying from cancer.

Then the family find out more about the history of the house and it’s prior owner. There is talk of necromancy, and it explains why the paranormal events are happening. The spirits are indeed restless and are not happy to have their home invaded.

The ending is a big reveal and showing if the family can protect their son and survive thep haunting.
To this day, Haunting in Connecticut is a decent horror movie. Sometimes it goes for the cheap jump scares, but mostly it will have you looking to see if you notice a figure in the background. It treats the issue very solemnly, there’s a lot of emotion involved.

It’s currently streaming on Netflix if you haven’t seen it yet. Maybe something to add to the list of movies to watch for Halloween.

Till next time, Happy Halloween!
