It’s What’s Inside(Review)

Body swapping is an interesting concept and It’s What’s Inside is a film that has a lot of fun exploring that. Of course things go wrong, and chaos ensues.

The story sees a group of college friends reunite at a wedding reunion, and one of guests shows up with suitcase containing a mysterious device that allows the users to switch bodies with each other. What starts as a fun party game descends into madness as the group tries to figure out who is who.

There’s a past event that happened with the group that becomes a plot point. It was interesting as far as the device is concerned because the person who brought it is pretty dodgy as far as how they were able to acquire it. But we learn how it works.

The first round of body swapping goes without much incident, but then they decide to go another round which is when things escalate quickly. Secret desires are revealed and there’s no guarantee that they will return the same.
The ending sees them attempting to do one final body swap. But then the epilogue explains more as to why everything went wrong. It turns out revenge can be very harsh indeed.

This movie I found pretty entertaining. I was waiting to see what would happen when someone switched bodies if they would be in a body of an opposite sex. It takes time for it to happen but eventually it does. The characters themselves, well let’s face it, they were pretty annoying at times but you understood the conflicts. I was surprised by the final reveal.

All in all, it’s a fun sci fi horror, and if you want to check it out on your own, it’s currently streaming on Netflix.
