Part 3 of the Tremors franchise sees us having a bit of reunion with the folks of Perfection. The Graboids have returned, along with Shreikers, and it’s up to the man of the hour Burt Gummer to defend his hometown once again.
The creatures have metamorphosis once again into their next form known as Assblasters. They are known as that due their ability to use combustion from their ass to fly. They do this to distribute eggs that hatch new Graboids.
This is the first time we see Burt almost meet his unfortunately end. But he also meets a common foe, his Moby Dick known as El Blanco. This graboid is unable to produce Shreikers and it becomes a sort of town mascot.
Mindy returns all grown up, and Melvin as well, except he’s a business man now looking to gain profit from the town’s predicament. He’s the sorta villian of the film.
Most of the creatures are practical effects with introducing computer generated graphics. It’s not terrible though. The Assblasters are cool, and are an absolute menace. They lost the ability to reproduce by eating. Instead if they eat too much, they are induced into a food coma instead.
The humor is sillier with goofy dialogue and the ways the characters interact with each other. There are some dicey situations that happen but very few deaths.
Burt is his usual badass self except he loses most of him armory. And by the end, he is the unlikely hero once again.
This one wasn’t so bad, but definitely you can tell the quality is declining. It would have been fine if they just ended the franchise here, but that ended up not being the case.
Stay tuned for Part 4, which is a prequel.
Till next time, stay scared!
