Pain You Can't Imagine - Normal Creatures

When it comes to Normal Creatures, as far as defining their sounds, their tagline of strange sounds for a strange planet would pretty much be the best way of saying it. It cannot really be defined, it more so a combination of trip-hop, alternative rock, and metal all blended together. Their new single “Pain You Can’t Imagine” is an example of what their sound is like.

With a groovy bass line with funky beats, the song has the female and male vocalist trading verses flawlessly. The guitar work is pretty good as well. The band definitely has horror elements including in their lyrics as well as their presentation. For example, the video starts off with a title card. And during their live shows, they introduce each song as a video tape, and the tapes can contain nightmare imagery. The video here shows the band performing the song. I enjoyed the song, it is funky, psychedelic, and a splash of metal.
