Candy Corn(Happy Halloween #22)(Review)

For Halloween, let’s talk about a recent discovery of mine, a movie known as Candy Corn. I had no idea what to expect but I will say by the end I was grinning like a kid who got the best treats when trick or treating.

The story sees a group of bullies who every year for Halloween pull a prank on local outcast by the name of Jacob. However this time around, things go too far and the bullies learn they made a big mistake when something comes for them to make them pay for what they did.

This ended up being the perfect Halloween movie and most of it takes part at a carnival going on to help celebrate the season. Let’s talk about the ring leader of the carnival who is short in size but makes up for it with his commanding performances. Every time he comes on screen, he just shows he is not one to be trifled with. Even with Tony Todd playing a small role, usually his characters are very intimidating but not so much here.
The creature that shows up as a result of the prank gone wrong is very menacing. The kills are very brutal, one scene had me shouting “FATALITY!!” And this film does not come with a happy ending either.

Not sure how I never knew this one existed before but I was finally happy to have witnessed it. It is very much one to add to the list of Halloween movies to watch. I highly recommend watching it, and it’s currently streaming on Tubi and Amazon Prime.
