While everyone was preparing for the year to come, Pittsburgh based hardcore/progressive rock band known as Skies Of Terra were quietly working on their album Dreamcatcher. They released it on Jan 1st via Last of a Dying Breed productions as a concept album. Containing 13 tracks that each tell a story, and it is the discretion of the listener as to what that will mean to them. It is meant to be listened from beginning to end, and its definitely a story meant to be listened to.
Starting off from the intro known as “REM(Remember Every Memory)”, it jumps right into it with blistering guitars, pounding drums, and raw intense vocals. There are bands they collaborated with such as Seethe, Cohen Noise, Alta View, Followship, Haven State, and more. Midway through is the next interlude “REM(Remember Every Moment)”, and the precursor to the last track known as “REM(Remember Every Mourning)”.
My interpretation of the concept is about experiencing loss and bouncing back from it. There is the message of hope, that things can be better. It is taking the memories of what we lost, and making a better life despite what we suffered. The songs within speak of hope. That life can be beautiful. Its getting through the rough moments and getting to a better place, whatever that might mean for us. And taking care of our mental health in the process. Enjoy the moments we have and live life to the fullest.
Favorite tracks are “Trinity”, “Invincibility Codes ft Seethe”, “Innocent Nightmare”, “Dreamcatcher”, and “A Sound of Whales(A Sound to Save Your Life)”
The album is available to stream or download on all streaming platforms, or you can find it here.
It may be an emotional journey for some, but you will find the album rocking your face off in the process. Well worth the time to listen to.

Till next time!
