There are those independent artists that are not afraid to push their creativity to the limits. Sam Astaroth is one of those, and he presents to us his heaviest song to date. Just when you thought you heard him at most extreme, he comes out with something that shows he can go further. Today, he released “Hour of the Demon” which goes into death metal territory. The fact he once again collaborated with Kristof Bathory, who provided the mixing, means we are in for a treat with this one.
The song wastes no time in going hard with pummeling guitars as well as including a symphonic black metal element. This is his most brutal vocal delivery yet as he roars and shrieks. If you like bands such as Slaughter to Prevail, then you will absolutely love this. It will elicit intense headbanging as you throw your fist in the air.
I always felt one of the essential building blocks of his musical style of demoncore was black/death metal, and this time, he just goes full on with it. It will be interesting to see if this trend continues in the future.
